Costco hasn't missed EPS in five straight quarters, yet the market just knocked its beat odds down to 70%.
Here's what I'm seeing: Q4 sales are already out at $93.9B, up 11%, and comps held strong. The real swing is margins. Street wants roughly $6.54 EPS, and Oppenheimer is warning the core business could come in light.
My lean is still Yes, but a penny in line isn't a beat. That's the trap.
