Robinhood Chain averaged 6.2M daily transactions from Oct. 2–8, down 42% from mid-September. Weekly spot trading volume also declined by 21%.
Yet DeFi deposits still stood at $1.04B, while perpetuals trading volume climbed 26%.
This doesn’t necessarily signal capital leaving the ecosystem. Instead, it may reflect a shift in how that capital is being deployed.
⚠️ The real test comes on Dec. 31, when subsidized swap fees expire.
