Europe’s stablecoin rules just got more serious.
On Oct. 8, ESMA said EU-authorized crypto service providers should stop offering services linked to stablecoins that don’t comply with MiCA. Existing exposures may need to be resolved within a limited transition period.
This could reshape which stablecoins remain accessible to EU users. Compliance is becoming a market factor, not just legal fine print.
