I'm Script Bro, and the market is about to start waiting for the Fed to "hand in their homework" again.
The September FOMC minutes are about to be released, and the one real question everyone wants to see is: how many people inside the Fed still want to continue raising rates?
Recent data hasn't been very strong; employment is clearly cooling down, which should logically make the Fed ease off the brakes a bit.
But service sector prices are rising again, and combined with variables like oil prices and tariffs, inflation is like a whack-a-mole game—just when you press one down, another pops up nearby.
So what the market fears most now is neither a clear rate hike nor a clear pause.
What it fears most is the Fed saying, "Let's wait and see."
