Altcoin hunter, now only trading $BTC and $ETH: I finally stopped itching to trade
After working on OKX for several years, I transformed from an "altcoin hunter" to only trading BTC and ETH. It's not that I haven't tried others, but after staying up late watching the market, getting stopped out by spikes, and repeatedly being proven wrong by news, I finally admitted: the two assets with good liquidity and clear structure are the ones that suit me.
My approach is simple: only trade trend pullbacks, don't chase emotional breakouts; watch BTC for direction, ETH for elasticity, only act when both align, and stay on the sidelines if they diverge. Single trade stop loss is 1%-2%, no more than two trades per day, and profits are taken in batches. The "100x dream" of altcoins is tempting, but the "longer survival" of BTC and ETH is more realistic.
What resonates is: the more focused you are, the less you itch to trade; the fewer assets you trade, the better you can review your trades. The question is—will only trading BTC and ETH make you miss out on Alpha? How do you filter false signals during consolidation? How many coins are you mainly trading now?

Planet's new rules have exposed the '100x Battle God,' and today BTC's lower shadow candle dealt another blow
After OKX Planet updated its rules, sharing positions now directly shows profit amounts and profit rates. Previously, the screen was full of 100x screenshots, but now they're all silent—opening 100x with 0.1U only earns a few cents, and the data has completely torn off the fig leaf.
Today $BTC is even more ruthless. After dipping to 80200–80400, the short momentum exhausted, triggering a liquidation cascade, producing a textbook "lower shadow washout" candle, reclaiming above 83000. The entire network saw about $67.7 million liquidated in 24 hours, with shorts and longs each accounting for half, a double kill for both sides.
The new Planet rules and this lower shadow candle are about the same thing: leverage multiples don't generate profits, position management does.
What really should be shown off is not "how much leverage I used," but "I'm still alive, and my account is in the green." Star said a few days ago, if you still believe in this industry, now is the time to keep building. For traders, building means controlling positions, sticking to stop losses, and not handing over chips during washouts. What do you show off on Planet, profit rate or leverage multiple?

OI market share at 11.9%, Grayscale bought $7.8 million in 20 days
Analyst sentiment ranks HYPE first in the entire market, deviating 2.3 standard deviations above the bullish consensus, more extreme than BTC and ETH. But what about the price? It dropped from 97.96 to 79, a 22% pullback. When price and sentiment diverge, that's when traders get involved.
$HYPE bets on the "fee buyback flywheel"
The first AQAv2 income of 14.58 million USDC has already arrived, with continuous buybacks of HYPE into the Assistance Fund; HyperLink routing transaction volume reached 254 million last month, targeting 10% of Hyperliquid's trading volume. Grayscale net bought $7.8 million in 20 days, institutions didn't stop buying during the dip. Perpetual OI market share hit a record 11.9%, the ecosystem is growing. HYPE's bullish logic is not narrative, but revenue converted into buying pressure.
$BNB bets on "deflationary bottom + ecosystem options"
The 37th burn just landed, 1.646 million BNB directly sent to the black hole, about $1.2 billion. AI trading tools launched; the more active the trading, the greater the fee discounts and gas consumption, the fiercer the burn. Plus the expectation of Predict's TGE within a month, BNB pool new listings are a clear play. BNB may not rise the fastest, but it is the toughest during downturns.
One offense, one defense. Honestly: between HYPE's buybacks and BNB's new listings, which one would you bet on?

When the price falls to the point where no one believes anymore, that's when faith gets its turn to act.
Everyone keeps telling me to "go with the trend."
ETFs are flowing out, prices are bottoming out, and the group chat is getting quieter day by day. I know if I shout 'go long' now, someone in the comments will say "Here come the bag holders again."
But traders go long not because they see it, but because they believe and then see it.
$ETH is stuck around 2400, and many have surrendered their chips here. But what I’m watching isn’t this candlestick—after Cancun, Layer2 daily active users, staking ETFs from Grayscale and BlackRock; these things don’t disappear just because the price dropped. At 2400 ETH, you fear a pullback, I fear missing out.
$SOL dropped to 105, ETFs saw outflows of millions, and those cutting losses think they’re being rational. But Samsung’s 82 million phones support Solana payments, and daily active addresses surged to 1.88 million, a 13-month high. The price is falling, but usage is growing. This is divergence, not death.
$ZEC retraced from 1700 to over 600, and the loudest voices are calling it a "scam." But the halving is done, shielded transactions are genuinely increasing, Grayscale trusts are running, and Paradigm publicly calls it "Bitcoin’s privacy complement." Privacy in the AI era isn’t just a narrative, it’s a necessity. You can curse all you want, I’ll keep mine.
The hardest part about going long isn’t losing money, it’s when the whole world thinks you’re wrong, yet you keep adding.

ETF is running, whales are buying: Who holds the trump card for BTC this round?
In October, BTC ETFs saw a net outflow of $615 million, and ETH ETFs had a weekly outflow of $320 million, due to CPI exceeding expectations and delayed rate cuts. However, whales increased their BTC holdings by 86,700 coins over three weeks, with exchange balances hitting a new low for 2023; ETH whales swept 166,000 coins in 72 hours, with staking rates at a historic high of 36%. ETF tactics are retreating, while accumulation is happening on-chain.
$BTC: 82,000 is the pivot, 83,000 is the gate. Only above that can we look to 84,000–85,500; below, defend 80,700–81,100.
$ETH: 2,400 just triggered shorts, with 97% of 1-hour liquidations being shorts; but active longs are only 53%–58%, lacking chase buying. Holding 2,400 suggests recovery; breaking below 2,398 with rising open interest signals risk of pullback.
Focus on three things: whether ETF outflows can narrow; how BTC 83,000 and ETH 2,400 are handled; and the FOMC on October 27–28.
Planet rules favor trading content, with higher weight on $BTC and $ETH. Share less about leverage, more about positions and responses.
#Institutional funds weaken, who will see the first inflow, BTC or ETH?

This week appears calm on the surface, but all the hidden lines are here 👇
Brothers, this week (10.19–10.25) there are no "big bombs" in macro or on-chain, a calm before the storm, but the more it’s this kind of trash time, the more you need to keep an eye on the hidden lines.
🐦 Macro: The dovish tone was set early
The Fed meeting is on October 28, entering a blackout period next week. Walsh has already signaled dovishness, and the market has cut the probability of an October rate hike to below 15%. A weaker dollar implicitly supports $BTC and $ETH, but with no CPI next week, don’t expect big volatility.
🏦 Events: Traditional finance making its presence felt
Beijing Financial Street Forum (10.19-22) discusses blockchain and digital RMB; Frankfurt Capital & Code (10.20) talks about payments and digital assets. Neutral impact on BTC, but ETH’s RWA/stablecoin narrative can gain some heat.
⚠️ ETH’s concerns
SEC funding interruption, new ETF approvals remain frozen; VanEck withdrew the Lido staked ETH ETF application. The ETH staking narrative loses a short-term catalyst, relatively weaker than BTC.
📉 Positioning game
After the October 9 options expiry, BTC’s biggest pain point is 84k, ETH’s is 2650 as short-term gravity levels. No large near-month expiries next week, sellers dominate, don’t chase highs, wait for a pullback.

Correlation drops to zero! Who is deceiving whom between the US stock market and the crypto space?
S&P hits new highs, $BTC fluctuates, $ETH weaker, 40-day correlation falls from 0.96 to nearly zero, like a "decoupling." But decoupling only happens when the rope breaks; this is more like a stretched rubber band—temporarily moving in opposite directions, but the tension remains.
This round in the US stock market is driven by AI profit certainty: Microsoft, Meta, Amazon's capital expenditures soar, institutions buy earnings reports. Crypto ETFs bleed out, money doesn't overflow but rather retracts from US stocks and money market funds. Transmission isn't dead, just switched lanes.
Three measures to watch the rebound:
1. US dollar liquidity: BTC's sensitivity to global liquidity is about 87%, Nasdaq about 97%, both anchored to the same underlying factor. Rate cuts or dollar easing lead to capital overflow returning, reviving BTC/ETH high beta, elasticity often outperforms US stocks.
2. Tech stock sentiment: After Microsoft's earnings, AI concerns rise, BTC falls back below 80,000 in sync, correlation was once 0.75 at the start of the year; ETH is more sensitive, falling harder.
3. ETF fund flows: Turning from negative to positive is the real fuel; new highs in US stocks only exclude systemic crashes.

Whale split, indicator compression, upgrade countdown — both sides at maximum tension
$ETH whales bid each other farewell, waiting for indicator confirmation
On-chain split: on one side, whales liquidate 15,300 ETH, taking a loss of $13.45 million to exit; on the other side, 166,000 ETH accumulated in 72 hours, over $400 million, staking rate pushed to 36.13%. Technicals: Stochastic oversold golden cross, RSI around 38, MACD histogram zeroing, decline speed braking; $2,318 and Bollinger lower band overlap as defense, moving average wall pressing down. News: ETH ETF net outflows nearly $700 million for 9 consecutive days, VanEck withdraws Lido staking ETF application; BlackRock's staking ETHB now trading. Structure intact, funds rotating.
$SOL upgrade countdown, leveraged whales placing bets
October 21 Alpenglow activation, finality down to 150 milliseconds, the hardest narrative this month. Whale 0x9c6 longs with 20x leverage, unrealized profit about $13 million not closed; but SkyAI transfers out 468,000 SOL, of which 218,000 go to CEX, signaling selling bias. Indicators: Stochastic double lines oversold, RSI below 40, MACD histogram zeroing — selling pressure slowing, reversal not yet; resistance band at 110, psychological bottom line at 102. SOL ETF ends 14 weeks of net inflows, turns to net outflows. Upgrade offers odds, leverage brings pressure.

90% of beginners practice in the wrong direction; trading intuition isn't developed by trading small coins
Brothers, I am a crypto trader from OKX Planet. Today, no fancy tricks, just some life-saving experience: try to place your trades on BTC and ETH.
When I first entered the circle, I also chased small coins, but ended up either getting stopped out by spikes or taught a lesson by liquidity. Later I realized that mainstream coins aren’t "slow to rise," but have a cleaner structure and better liquidity, making them the best for practicing trading intuition. If you watch BTC and ETH’s key levels every day, record how they fake breakouts, how they retrace, and how volume expands, over time your feel for the market will naturally develop.
My approach is simple:
1. Focus only on $BTC and $ETH daily, first determine the direction on the larger timeframes, then look at the 1-hour and 15-minute rhythms
2. Don’t trade frequently; wait for positions you understand
3. Keep position size fixed, set stop losses in advance, don’t change your plan because of a single spike
4. Review every trade: why you entered, why you exited, and whether emotions got the better of you.
Small coins can be watched, but don’t let them disrupt your rhythm. Trading intuition isn’t mystical; it’s muscle memory from repeated observation of mainstream coins. First, stabilize your feel, then talk about profits. Remember: chase fewer hot topics, watch BTC and ETH more, and trading will be much clearer.

Institutions swept $ETH with 560 million, ZEC first surged 40%: Is BTC bottoming?
$BTC selling pressure is exhausting
On-chain sell exhaustion indicators have hit historic highs, Richard Byers directly states "the bottom is solidifying, not a bear market." The price rebounded from the CPI-driven 79,725 to 82,900, with 81,500 repeatedly supported. After ETF net outflows on October 14, there have been two consecutive days of slight inflows, with institutional sentiment shifting from cautious to exploratory.
$ETH value recovery after excessive FUD
At $2,404, but DeFi TVL remains steady at $119 billion, ETF funds continue to strengthen, and RWA and PayFi narratives are still fermenting in the Ethereum ecosystem. A stronger signal comes from institutions: Abraxas Capital single-handedly bought 242,652 ETH, about $561 million, with large transfers and institutional wallet balances growing in sync.
$ZEC halving countdown + institutional endorsement
A 40% rally against the trend in 24 hours, reaching $743, with the privacy sector collectively following the rise. The halving is hard-coded for November 18, Grayscale entered with a $102 million fund, and Arthur Hayes lists ZEC as the core position for family offices second only to BTC.
