$1 BILLION. AGAIN?
In May, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said authorities had seized ~$1B in Iran-linked crypto. A June Treasury release cited nearly $500M in frozen crypto.
Now he says ~$1B may be seized this week.
No target wallets were identified, and officials haven't clarified whether the figures overlap.
The forensic question: new assets, a revised estimate, or an old figure resurfacing?
A planned seizure isn't a completed one.
