PONS at $0.35, are you ready to bottom-fish?
From 0.004 to 0.97, a 240x legend; now at 0.35, down 64%. Daily revenue dropped from 6 million to 240,000, a 90% decline. Still waiting for a rebound? Is this a shakeout or a zeroing out?
First glance: down 30% in 7 days, 50% in 30 days, 6%-12% retracement in 24 hours. Market cap 240 million, ranked outside top 120. Futures volume far exceeds spot, price driven entirely by leveraged positions. Funding rate annualized at 11%, longs still paying shorts—people haven’t left, but money is running.
First thing: heat fades, revenue collapses.
In early September, Robinhood Chain meme frenzy, 25,000 tokens issued daily, platform daily fees hit $6 million, weekly fees once surpassed Pump.fun. Binance Alpha, Binance Futures, Kraken queued for listing, Cumberland and Wintermute invested real money. Market called it "the new launchpad leader."
Now?
Daily revenue dropped to $240,000, nearly 90% decline. On-chain incentives ended, meme wave cooled, some launchpads suspected of liquidity extraction. Revenue is the lifeblood of launchpad tokens, not KOL hype.
Without a new revenue inflection, futures bullishness can’t push back to 0.5. Still waiting for the next meme legend? The legend is over; now it’s about accidents.
Second thing: fundamentals are clean, but pricing anchor is fees.
PONS has no team allocation, no investor unlocks, fully circulating at TGE, 80% of platform revenue used for buyback and burn, about 32% of supply burned so far. Product is simple: starts with bonding curve, graduates to Uniswap v4, liquidity locked, platform non-custodial.
Sounds clean? Yes, but clean doesn’t mean valuable.
Launchpad token valuation anchors on fees. At peak, it ranked among top protocol fees network-wide; now daily revenue dropped an order of magnitude, burn rate follows. Price from 0.97 back to 0.35 reflects fundamental cooling, not just a shakeout. Holding concentration moderately high, futures position/market cap ratio high, daily volatility of 10% normal.
Taking a launchpad with 90% revenue collapse to compare with Pump.fun’s peak? That’s not value investing, that’s chasing shadows.
Third thing: technicals show a downtrend, 0.35 is just consolidation.
Daily chart shows downtrend since September high, 0.35 is not a reversal but a downtrend continuation.
Strong support: 0.333-0.337. 24-hour and 7-day lows coincide; breaking this likely accelerates decline.
Near-term support: 0.345-0.350. Current price is right here, no safety cushion.
Near-term resistance: 0.39-0.42. October 8 rebound high and short-term moving averages resist here; failing to reclaim means rebound is just a correction.
Strong resistance: 0.50-0.54, then 0.55-0.60 previous platform.
Daily volume close above 0.42 needed to target 0.50. On 4-hour chart, 0.33 is demand zone, but rebound hasn’t swallowed 0.39 yet. Structure is "fall then wait for confirmation," not right-side play.
Don’t look for bottoms in a downtrend; bottoms are made, not guessed.
Bull vs. bear, judge for yourself:
Bull side:
Fully circulating, no allocation, continuous buyback and burn
Binance Futures listing, good liquidity
Team mentioned social trading, copy trading, leaderboards
32% burned, supply slowly declining
Bear side:
Daily revenue dropped from 6 million to 240,000, 90% decline
Heat fades, meme cools, liquidity extraction suspected
Fed rate hikes to 3.75%-4.00%, minutes hawkish
BTC fell from 86,000, altcoins dropped deeper
High futures position/market cap ratio, crowded longs, leverage-driven
Social trading, copy trading, leaderboards? All just whitepaper hype until implemented.
Key levels
Resistance above: 0.39-0.42 (reclaim means correction) → 0.50-0.54 → 0.55-0.60
Support below: 0.345-0.350 → 0.333-0.337 (break accelerates) → 0.28-0.30
Trading strategy
This is a launchpad token, position size must be small. Single token no more than 2%-3% of risk capital, leverage no more than 3x. Perpetual funding remains positive, overnight long cost not low.
Short-term long:
Only buy on 0.333-0.340 pullback without break, confirmed by 15-min or 1-hour reclaim of 0.350. Stop loss below 0.328. First target 0.385-0.390, second target 0.42. Risk/reward less than 1:1.5, skip.
Breakout long:
4-hour volume close above 0.42, then target 0.50-0.53. Stop loss below 0.39. No volume fake breakouts.
Short-term short:
0.39-0.42 resistance with weak volume, light short on pullback, stop loss above 0.435, targets 0.35/0.335. Follow daily trend but high volatility, keep position small.
Swing:
Mid-term follow revenue only. Daily fees back to million-dollar level and price stabilizes above 0.42, then consider 0.33-0.35 as stage bottom. If revenue shrinks and daily closes below 0.333, next support 0.28-0.30, no bottom-fishing.
PONS now is like the last table in a casino that hasn’t cleared—
Lights still on, drinks still flowing, but the house is already counting money.
Launchpad token lifeblood is fees, not KOL hype. Revenue collapsed, any rebound is an escape opportunity, not a buy-in opportunity.
0.35 is a midpoint, not a bottom. Trying to find value in a launchpad token is like looking for love in a casino.
