MET at $0.48, do you dare to chase?
Two days ago it was still lying at 0.30 unnoticed, today it surged to 0.52 in one move, a 50%+ increase in 24 hours, open interest surged 142%, shorts forced to pay — but at the moment you see 0.48, the rally has already started to retrace. Is this wave a true reversal brought by DLMM Pro, or the last bull trap before the airdrop window?
First, the surface: it’s gone crazy, but the rise makes you uneasy.
October 5th at 0.30, October 7th at 0.44, today the high touched 0.52, the 0.48 you see is a retracement after the spike. It rose from 0.30 in about a week, up 49% in nearly a month, with a market cap only around 100 million USD — small cap, high turnover, event-driven, all three characteristics present.
The candlesticks tell you: after two big bullish candles with long upper shadows, 4-hour volume accelerated from 0.44, volume several times that of previous days. This is not a stable hold, it’s a pulse.
First point: DLMM Pro is the fuse, but the token doesn’t directly pay dividends.
Meteora builds liquidity infrastructure on Solana, announced DLMM Pro around October 6th, discussion volume instantly exploded, KuCoin pulled the price from 0.30 to above 0.50.
Sounds impressive? Let me translate into plain language:
Protocol fees in 30 days about $34.2 million, up 105% from previous 30 days
Trading volume about $7 billion, real business is running
But this money doesn’t go directly into MET holders’ pockets
You’re not buying dividend rights, you’re buying the narrative of “product expansion.” Staking and airdrop expectations are the real token capture paths; no matter how much fees rise, it doesn’t directly affect your coin price.
This is the harsh truth of this rally: the business is real, token capture is lacking.
Second point: the airdrop window is still open, ending October 21.
LP Stimulus Season 2 is about 20 million tokens, 2% of total supply, claim deadline October 21.
What does this mean?
As the window nears, there tends to be wash trading and selling pressure. Those rushing in now aren’t all believers; some are just trading volume to farm the airdrop. Once the window closes, this fake buying will vanish instantly.
You think the bull is here, but it’s just airdrop farmers putting on a show.
Third point: contracts are crowded, shorts are paying.
Binance perpetual open interest surged 142% in 24 hours, funding rate once about -0.44% per period — shorts paying longs.
This structure means the rebound can be fierce, but the retracement can be even faster.
Why? Because crowded shorts mean if price keeps rising, forced short covering will cause a short squeeze and a sudden spike. Conversely, if longs take profits without spot support, price will crash sharply.
0.48 is not an entry point, it’s a meat grinder.
Long-short showdown, judge for yourself:
On one side:
DLMM Pro launched, Solana DEX trading active
Protocol fees up 105% in 30 days, real business running
Crowded shorts, deeply negative funding rate, short squeeze may continue
Strong momentum from 0.30 to 0.52
On the other side:
Token doesn’t directly capture fees, you buy narrative not dividends
Airdrop window ends October 21, selling pressure imminent
Open interest doubled in one day, leverage-driven, unclear spot support
BTC just broke below 83000, macro is bearish, high turnover targets get cut first
Key level 0.48, only 4 cents above the death line at 0.44.
Resistance above: 0.50 (round number) → 0.519-0.52 (today’s high) → no volume to hold above 0.52, forget 0.60
Support below: 0.44 (yesterday’s platform + acceleration start) → 0.40 (psychological) → 0.33 (October 6 start) → 0.30 (pre-rally box)
0.48 stuck right in the middle of 0.44-0.52. Hold 0.44, it can act as a pullback; daily close below 0.44 means a deep short-term retracement.
Trading strategy
Aggressive:
Not recommended to go long at 0.48. If you must, only very light position when stabilizing at 0.44-0.45, stop loss 0.42, target 0.50. Exit at 0.495 first. Don’t be greedy.
Conservative:
Wait for 0.38-0.40, stop loss 0.35. If not reached, stay out. Missing out doesn’t lose money, chasing high does.
Breakout:
Only consider chasing if volume supports holding above 0.52 and pullback doesn’t break 0.48, target 0.56. 0.60 is not a target. Breakouts without volume are traps.
Shorts:
Light short positions on weak rallies at 0.50-0.52, stop loss 0.535, targets 0.44, 0.40. With such negative funding, don’t short heavy or you risk being squeezed.
Position rules:
Single trade risk no more than 1% of total capital, leverage no more than 2x. It can go from 0.30 to 0.52 in a day, and also crash back from 0.52 to 0.30.
Risk control priorities (must memorize):
Break below 0.44 with volume, next supports 0.40, 0.33, exit first
Watch selling pressure around October 21 airdrop window close
If BTC breaks below 82600, reduce MET leverage first
MET now is like a game of hot potato —
DLMM Pro pushed price from 0.30 up, fees are real, token capture is the gap. The 0.48 you see is a rest stop, not a bottom.
What you can do is wait to see if 0.44 holds, not all-in at 0.52 halfway up.
Watch two things: can 0.50 hold, will crowded shorts be fully squeezed.
