Robinhood Chain
Uniswap,

Last night, the US stock market went crazy again.
Micron rose 5%, SanDisk rose 6.8%, and the Nasdaq continued to hit new closing highs. The memory chip sector was in full celebration.
What about Bitcoin? $86,195, down 0.35% in 24 hours.
A few years ago, in such a risk-on environment, BTC would have already taken off. Why is it different this time?
First, a harsh fact:
What drove Bitcoin's rebound from the bottom to 86,000? Short squeeze.
Over $1 billion in short positions were liquidated in the past 24 hours. After breaking through 86,000, the price once surged intraday to $87,363. Glassnode said BTC has reclaimed the long-term moving average that had been pressing it down for 300 days.
But look closely—the core driver of this rally is shorts being forced to cover. Once this buying pressure is released, to hold above 90,000, new capital inflows are needed.
Where is the new capital?
It’s being absorbed by AI.
From late 2024 to mid-2026, a significant portion of new US dollar liquidity will be absorbed by the AI industry chain. Stock investors buy AI stocks, bond investors buy AI credit assets, private equity funds participate in data center financing, and banks lend to tech giants.
AI CapEx has become a global venture capital vacuum.
What has been Bitcoin’s pricing logic over the past decade? Dollar liquidity, real interest rates, risk appetite, regulatory cycles.
In 2026, a new variable emerges: whether AI continues to absorb global marginal risk capital.
The answer is already in the data.
In June, Bitcoin ETFs saw $4.51 billion in outflows, the largest since their launch in January 2024. Where did the money go? Institutional investors reallocated to AI, semiconductors, and the GPU supply chain.
Since March, US semiconductor ETFs have accumulated inflows exceeding $22 billion, while gold and Bitcoin funds combined have seen outflows of about $17.5 billion.
This is not a decline in risk appetite but a capital redistribution within risk assets.
Why do funds choose AI over BTC?
Simply put: certainty.
SanDisk has signed eight long-term customer agreements, locking in half of its 2027 fiscal year capacity and two-thirds of its 2028 fiscal year capacity, with a minimum total revenue of $93.9 billion at floor prices. Micron has signed 16 strategic customer agreements covering about 20% of DRAM shipments and one-third of NAND shipments.
These are assets supported by contracts, capacity, and profit growth.
What drives BTC’s rise? Liquidity and narrative.
When global capital faces a choice between "AI’s certainty of growth" and "crypto narrative-driven,"
there’s no need to wonder where the money flows.
Looking again at last night’s US-Iran talks:
Trump said the talks were "very good," and both sides will continue to meet. Geopolitical risk premiums decline, risk appetite rises.
But note—this is positive for all risk assets.
Bitcoin rises, Nasdaq rises. The correlation between BTC and Nasdaq, high-growth tech stocks is increasing. When chip stocks become more volatile and risk premiums rise, the risk pricing of on-chain assets tightens simultaneously.
Crypto is no longer the sole outlet for risk appetite. It must compete with AI for the same marginal funds.
And in this competition, BTC is being marginalized.
The most ironic scene:
ZEC surged past $1,600 last night, hitting a recent high.
The $8,000 target previously called by Grayscale’s founder now doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
What does this mean? It’s not that funds don’t buy crypto assets, but they don’t buy crypto assets "without a story."
The privacy track has a narrative; some say "privacy version of store-of-value assets is being repriced." What does BTC have? ETF inflows? Institutional allocation?
These are "defensive narratives." When there’s an AI chip sector doubling annually in the market, defensive narratives simply can’t capture incremental funds.
One last honest word:
US-Iran détente is positive, but it benefits "all risk assets."
Whether BTC can hold above $90,000 and truly outperform Nasdaq—
depends on whether it can tell a story sexier than AI storage.
If it can’t, then 86,000 is not a "strong consolidation," it’s "stalled."
